How to Order & Use a Press‑On Sizing Kit
Getting the perfect fit is essential for long‑lasting, comfortable press‑on nails. Please review the steps below before ordering your custom set.
Before any custom press‑on set can be created, a sizing kit must be purchased and tried on. This ensures accuracy in fit and helps avoid lifting, discomfort, or sizing issues once your final set is made.
Sizing kits include multiple nail sizes for each finger so you can test and determine your exact fit.
Please note that each nail shape fits differently. To ensure the perfect fit, we recommend trying your preferred shape in a sizing kit before moving forward with a custom press-on set.
When your sizing kit arrives, please do not have any products on your nails before testing, to ensure proper sizing. Test each nail and size without glue to find the best fit for every finger. We require sizing of both hands, as some nail sizes vary from the same finger on different hands.
• Choose the nail that fully covers your natural nail from sidewall to sidewall without pressing into the skin
• The nail should sit comfortably at the cuticle and free edge with no gaps
• Sizing may vary depending on the nail shape you select
The size of each nail will be on a sticker on the back of the nail. We understand some numbers are hard to see on clear tips so we will make sure to have them easy for you to see.
Once you’ve tried on the sizing kit, we recommend writing your nail sizes in the designated section on the back of the display card and safely storing it. The nail sizes recorded here will be needed during the custom ordering process as we will ask for your sizes and designs after making a reservation. Please confirm all sizes carefully, as your custom set will be made exactly according to the details you provide. We are not responsible for remembering client sizes for multiple orders, so please keep this size card handy for any future custom orders.
Ready-to-wear sizing kits are available for clients who would like to preview both the fit and overall look before committing to a fully custom press-on set. These kits include already polished nails and are offered as one-color manicures.
Each ready-to-wear sizing kit also includes a full nail prep set, featuring nail glue, adhesive tabs, a buffer, file, alcohol prep wipe, wooden cuticle pusher, and a mini cuticle oil.
Ready-to-wear sizing kits are priced at $50.
When ordering a ready-to-wear sizing kit, please include the name of the color and the 6-character color-code in the note section at check-out. We recommend using a color-code website to choose a color and find color-code (example: Blue, #1D29CC). We also recommend using a color picker website to find a color code of a specific shade you have saved in your photos. After receiving an order for a ready-to-wear sizing kit, the customer will receive an e-mail from info@scalesofamermaid.com typically within 1-2 business days to confirm the color choice. This is the only email address that will contact you regarding your order.
If a note section is left blank, we will reach out to ask for a color choice. We will try to match this color as best as possible. We may not have every color on hand, but will provide swatches close to your choice for you to decide from when confirming your order. Once confirmed, we will begin working on your order. If a color is not listed in your order, and a customer is non-responsive to our attempts to reach out, the ready-to-wear sizing kit will be refunded after 7 days of unresponsiveness.
